Privacy policy

The short version: we use your information to introduce you to good people and keep everyone safe. We never sell it, and you can ask us to delete it at any time.

Draft, pending legal review. This is a plain-English draft and may change before launch.

1. Who we are

Palzy is a social concierge that runs on WhatsApp. Palzy is operated by[Legal entity name], registered at[Registered business address] ("Palzy", "we", "us").

Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (the "DPDP Act") and the rules made under it, we are theData Fiduciary for the personal data described in this policy. You can reach us athello@textpalzy.com.

2. What we collect

  • Your WhatsApp number and the profile name WhatsApp shares with us when you message Palzy.
  • Your onboarding answers, including voice notes. These cover things like what you enjoy, when you're free, the area you live or work in, and the kind of people and plans you're looking for. We turn voice notes into text so Palzy can understand them.
  • One optional social profile link (for example, Instagram or LinkedIn), if you choose to share it.
  • ID and selfie verification. Before your first plan, you'll verify your identity with a government ID and a selfie through our third-party verification provider, [verification provider name]. The provider checks that the ID is genuine, that the selfie matches it, and that you're 21 or older. We receive the result, your name and age (or date of birth) as shown on the ID, and a reference number. We don't keep copies of your ID document.
  • Plan history: the introductions and plans Palzy suggests, which ones you accept or decline, whether a plan happened, and any feedback you give afterwards.
  • Your messages with Palzy, including safety reports you make and reports made about you.

We don't ask for sensitive details we don't need. Please don't send us health, financial or other sensitive information about yourself or anyone else.

3. Why we collect it

We use your information for two things: matching and safety. In practice, that means:

  • Understanding who you'd like to meet and suggesting people and plans that fit.
  • Arranging plans, including sending reminders and meeting details.
  • Verifying that every member is a real person aged 21 or over.
  • Keeping members safe: reviewing reports, preventing misuse, and removing people who break our rules.
  • Improving how Palzy matches people, using feedback on past plans.
  • Meeting our legal obligations.

Palzy uses AI to read your answers and suggest matches. A person on our team reviews suggested matches before anyone is introduced, and no one is introduced without both people saying yes.

We process your data with your consent, which you give when you start chatting with Palzy and agree to this policy. You can withdraw consent at any time (see Your rights). If you do, we'll stop processing your data and delete it, except where the law requires us to keep something.

4. Who we share it with

We never sell your personal data. We don't share it with advertisers or data brokers.

We share only what's needed, only with:

  • Our verification provider, to check your ID and selfie.
  • Our hosting and messaging providers, including Meta's WhatsApp Business Platform and the cloud services that store and process our data. They act on our instructions and under contract.
  • AI service providers that process text on our behalf to help Palzy understand your answers and suggest matches, under contracts that protect your data.
  • Other members, only for a plan you've both agreed to. They see your first name, a short intro and the plan details. Your phone number stays private unless you choose to share it.
  • Authorities, if the law requires it or if we believe someone's safety is at serious risk.

Some of our providers may process data outside India. When that happens, we make sure it's done in line with the DPDP Act and that your data stays protected.

5. How long we keep it

  • While your account is active, we keep your profile, answers and plan history so Palzy can keep making good introductions.
  • Voice notes: we keep the audio for up to [30] days after we've turned it into text, then delete it.
  • If you ask us to delete your data, or if you don't use Palzy for [12] months, we delete your data within [30] days.
  • Safety records: if a report was made by or about you, we keep a minimal record (the report, the outcome and your verified identity) for up to [2 years] after your account closes, so people removed for safety reasons can't simply come back.
  • We may keep some information for longer where the law requires it.

6. Your rights, and how to use them

Under the DPDP Act, you can:

  • Access a summary of the personal data we hold about you and how we use it.
  • Correct, complete or update anything that's wrong or out of date.
  • Delete your data and close your account.
  • Withdraw consent at any time. It's as easy as giving it.
  • Nominate someone to exercise these rights for you if you're unable to.
  • Raise a grievance with us, and if you're not satisfied, complain to the Data Protection Board of India.

To make a request, email hello@textpalzy.com from any address, or text "delete my data" to Palzy on WhatsApp. We may ask you to confirm it's really you, usually by messaging us from the WhatsApp number on your account. We'll respond within [30] days.

7. Security

We use encryption in transit, access controls and the security features of our providers to protect your data. Only people on our team who need your data to run Palzy can see it. No system is perfectly secure, so if we ever have a data breach that affects you, we'll tell you and the Data Protection Board as the law requires.

Age

Palzy is only for adults aged 21 and over. We don't knowingly collect data from anyone younger. If we learn that someone under 21 has signed up, we'll delete their data.

8. This website

textpalzy.com doesn't ask you for any personal details. We use privacy-friendly analytics to count visits and taps on our WhatsApp buttons. If you arrive from one of our ads, we may use the Meta Pixel to understand which ads work. It may set cookies in your browser, which you can block in your browser settings. When you tap "Text Palzy", the message we prefill includes a short code (like "ref: ig-newcity-01") that tells us how you found us.
